President and CEO
The YMCA of Southern Nevada is seeking a new CEO to lead us forward.
Job Description
EXECUTIVE VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
YMCA of SOUTHERN NEVADA
Position: Chief Executive Officer (President and Chief Executive Officer)
Address: 4141 Meadows Lane, Las Vegas NV 89107
The YMCA of Southern Nevada is an equal opportunity employer
committed to valuing diversity and practicing inclusion.
The YMCA of Southern Nevada has a commitment to creating a culture of safety.
The Opportunity
The YMCA of Southern Nevada is seeking a new CEO to lead us forward. As one of the oldest and largest charities in the region, the Y serves over 60,000 individuals annually through a wide range of impactful programs, including childcare, senior services, sports, education, fitness, health interventions, and more. Our mission is to strengthen the community and be inclusive of all.
The Las Vegas Valley is one of the nation's fastest-growing areas, but it faces challenges such as limited access to quality childcare and education. Currently, 74% of families with children under six cannot access licensed childcare, and childcare costs exceed in-state college tuition. Additionally, fewer than 50% of Nevada’s public elementary students are proficient in math and reading. The YMCA is uniquely positioned to address these issues, having developed a strong subsidized preschool program serving over 475 children annually, with plans to expand further in partnership with Clark County and North Las Vegas.
Partnerships are essential to our growing impact. In the past 20 years, we've opened three new facilities through public/private partnerships and collaborated with Medicare and Medicaid insurers to provide low-income families with free access to our amenities and programs. Recently, we partnered with the Clark County School District to offer afterschool academic interventions.
Supported by a dedicated board of directors, a seasoned leadership team, and robust fundraising that contributes 30-35% of our revenue, the next CEO will have the opportunity to shape the vision and direction of our organization, expanding our reach and creating lasting community impact.
Our Mission
The Las Vegas YMCA is an inclusive organization of men, women and children joined by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility in Southern Nevada.
Lasting Personal and Social Change Comes About When We All Work Together
Our Cause
At the YMCA Of Southern Nevada, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

The President and CEO will report to the Board of Directors, and will oversee a staff team with functional expertise in fiscal management, financial development, facilities management, staffing, and operations.
We are seeking a visionary leader equipped to set the direction and develop a strategic plan for the YMCA of Southern Nevada. He or she will foster strong relationships with the board of directors and community partners, and will steward efforts to raise funds that allow us to continue to expand our impact. The successful candidate will be a seasoned leader who trusts his or her team and maintains the familial culture the Y of Southern Nevada has built. In the winter months the city has a ski resort just an hour’s drive away. In the summer you can go boating or swimming in Lake Mead, or hop in one of the state of the art YMCA pools. The city is also home to multiple professional sports teams, including Stanley Cup Champions, the Vegas Golden Knights, WNBA Champions, the Las Vegas Aces, and many more. Furthermore, the international airport is just a short drive away.
