The Federal Policy Manager serves as the federal policy lead for fisheries and protected resources issues in the United States, working with the Responsible Fishing Campaign at Oceana U.S. The individual in this role leads the campaign’s federal advocacy efforts with Congress and the executive branch, in coordination with the Campaign Director, by developing advocacy strategies and materials, coordinating with external coalition partners and internal teammates across Oceana’s field, communications, science, legal, and development departments, and persuasively representing Oceana’s priorities and campaign objectives to key decisionmakers at the federal level. Due to COVID-19, you will work remotely until further notice. You will be notified when working from the DC office is required. The position is based in Washington, DC.

Strong candidates for this position will have a bachelor’s degree and five years of government relations, advocacy, or legislative experience. The ideal candidate has knowledge or strong interest in ocean conservation; experience developing and implementing strategies to win advocacy campaigns; a collaborative work style; and excellent communications skills.
