Senior Associate’s Job Scope
The Senior Associate, DEI leads TREC’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programming as part of TREC’s Organizational Effectiveness Program. The scope of the position is two-fold:
Program Oversight and Staff Supervision
The Senior Associate provides vision and strategic direction of TREC’s client-facing DEI programming as a member of TREC’s Organizational Effectiveness team. The Senior Associate leads the evolution of TREC’s DEI client services strategy and develops and oversees TREC’s DEI training and consulting programs. Also, the Senior Associate provides support and supervision to the DEI Associate.
Client Engagement
The Senior Associate develops and delivers DEI trainings and resources that are broadly available to TREC clients on a range of foundational DEI topics. Additionally, they provide in-depth consulting services to a handful of TREC clients, including assessments, training for board and staff teams, and supporting clients in designing and implementing DEI organizational development plans. Clients are identified in conjunction with the Executive Director and Organizational Effectiveness team.
The Senior Associate determines and designs the scope of DEI services provided to each client based on organizational need, staff capacity, and change readiness. Services are delivered over the phone, online, and onsite. Some training and consulting services are co-delivered with other members of the Organizational Effectiveness team and/or the DEI Associate.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience building a multi-year DEI strategy and prioritizing initiatives that lead to results
At least seven years of experience in creating and conducting successful training and/or consulting specifically in diversity, equity, and inclusion
Proven skill and success in supervising, developing, and supporting staff
Skill and will to initiate and engage in uncomfortable and challenging conversations, particularly those aimed at shifting biased behaviors and mindsets
Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments, meet deadlines, and display initiative and innovation
Ability to work effectively with a diverse colleague team and client base
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to a variety of audiences (leaders, staff, boards, colleagues)
Ability to succeed with remote supervision and to collaborate with a virtual team
Once we are post-pandemic, willingness to travel around Western North America, including remote or sparsely populated places
