Our large Automotive client based in Windsor are building their engineering team and have multiple 2-3 years contract opportunities available. We are currently looking for Design Release Engineer.

The Design Release Engineer may work more specifically as a DRE within Passive Safety Electronics Component, Active Chassis Components or other area.
Responsibilities may include (but not limited to):
*Design, release, and validate the passive safety electrical system and its components, leading the process from inception through launch
* Work closely with supply base to ensure on-time implementation and validation of software, hardware, and diagnostics following company guidelines
*Interface with Electronic Component Groups, Suppliers, Purchasing, Quality and Assembly Plants to develop Electronic Stability Control, Electronic Braking Actuation Module, Wheel Speed Sensors and Clutch/Brake pedal sensor/switch components
*Manage product performance to meet vehicle and component level functional, cost and weight targets.
*Perform product release and change management processes
*Develop software and hardware release timing for feature rollout and performance goal milestones
*Manage supplier and internal DVPR's, including:
oTracking of the validation activities and the related bug-fixes
oDefinition of countermeasures in case of issues and delays
oCoordination of HW / SW releases of the component, ensuring the alignment with the validation activities
oApproval of tests results and related deviations
*Support AQP, PSO, product launch and problem resolution during vehicle launch gates

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Computer / Mechanical / Automotive / Systems Engineering, or a related field of study
* 3+ years of experience of Design and/or Validation of Electrical systems and components
* Proficient in the creation and implementation of DFMEAs and/or DVP&Rs and design practices
* Knowledge of Electronic Stability Control systems
* Calibration and diagnostic experience using typical automotive controls system development environments
* Intermediate knowledge in automotive communication protocols ((CAN networks, Electrical/EMC requirements, Environmental requirements, FMEA, functional safety analysis - ISO 26262 norm, etc.)
* Intermediate knowledge in automotive vehicle mechanical and electrical system architectures (e.g., distributed control systems)
* Associate level candidates may be considered IF they possess strong SAE or Alt Practical experience

Preferred Qualifications:
* 3+ years Passive Safety E/E experience, or electronic brake system releasing
* Strong GD&T skill set
* Formal training/experience in problem solving, quality and reliability
* Experience in manufacturing of electronic brake components and vehicle assembly
* Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) GreenBelt certification
* Shainin/Reactive GreenBelt certification
* May be required to drive a company car. Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record.
